MD Volt, a Meetup group, is hosting this casual event for electric car enthusiasts.
Gather near the charging stations at 9am for coffee and electric car admiring. Enjoy the farmers market underway on the plaza and maybe stay for lunch.
The Howard County Farmers Market at the Commons is now on Saturdays!
The farmers market at the Commons offers local produce and meats, sweet and savory prepared foods, meals to go, and more! The market is “producer only,” which means the vendors only sell items that have been produced in Howard County.
Local band Third Light will join us during this market!

Please join us to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Commons!
It’s going to be a party with live musical performances, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and a magnificent cake! Meet the people who installed our green roof and solar tree, and then help us scatter wildflower seeds on the big hill out back.
The plaza will be filled with eco-minded organizations and vendors!
Browse a native plant sale, take a closer look at an electric car, and learn how to compost. Find out what the Roving Radish is, purchase local meat, and do some safe sungazing.
Many of the Commons businesses will be offering Earth Day specials – have you ever had an Earth Day cupcake?
Participating organizations and businesses: Lauren’s Garden Service, Howard Astronomy League, The Roving Radish, Master Gardener BayWise program, Master Gardener Grow-It-Eat-It program, Howard County Bird Club, Win Kelly Chevrolet, Antwerpen Nissan, TLV Farm, Hensing’s Hilltop Acres, Tin Lizzy, Caiffestry, Master Gardeners Composting program, and the Howard County Conservancy.
There are dozens of Citizen Science projects begging for backyard data you can provide, like bird counts, butterfly appearances, and when your flowers bloom. Join local Master Gardener Ann Coren to learn how you can use the data you collect to improve your garden, as well as benefit scientific research. She’ll explain Project Bud Burst, Project Feeder Watch, Monarch Watch, and Million Pollinator Gardens, among others.
Free, all are welcome.
This event will be held in the Community Room on the second floor of the north building; entrance off the plaza.
