Kim Gover, owner of Yoga Love in Columbia, MD, is hosting this free outdoor, beginner-level yoga class at Clarksville Commons!

Classes will be Vinyasa style Yoga, accessible to ALL, with a focus on matching breath to movement.
Come to move your body, spend time outside, and bond with the Clarksville community!

Earth Day Celebration POSTPONED

DUE TO THE STORMY FORECAST, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO SATURDAY, MAY 6, 10AM-2PM.

This year our annual Earth Day celebration will include environmental non-profits, local farmers, green-minded crafters and businesses, renewable energy companies, presentations by a local geologist/author and an ecology-inspired sculptor… and an electric vehicle display and EV owners meet-up.

If you will be bringing your electric vehicle, please register on the Commons’ page on the Drive Electric Earth Day website

Local geologist and author Ned Tillman will be speaking in the Community Room at 1:15pm about the history of the Chesapeake region and his just-published new book. Copies of all his books will be available for purchase.
Paul Steinkoenig will be speaking about his sculpture, ‘Solar Hope,’ which was installed on the plaza last August in the Community Room at 3:15pm.

Santa & Songs

Join us on Saturday, December 3rd for live holiday music from the River Hill High School Music Dept., followed by Santa arriving on a fire engine!
RHHS choir students will perform at 10am, and RHHS guitar students will lead everyone in a sing-a-long starting at 10:30am.
*Santa is expected to arrive at about 11am and will be available for photos and Very Important Conversations.

Meet the Artist

Join us in the Community Room and on the plaza for a presentation by Hyattsville sculptor Paul Steinkoenig.

Paul created “Solar Hope,” the latest sculpture that the Commons is hosting as part of the Howard County Arts Council’s ARTsites program.
After Paul’s presentation about his inspiration and process for the piece, there will be time for community Q&A before we migrate to the plaza to view the sculpture together.
