Clarksville Commons & Howard County Police Department Co-Host National Night Out

July 18, 2024

Clarksville, MD – Clarksville Commons and Howard County Police Department will join forces this year to co-host National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 from 5-8 pm on the plaza.

National Night Out is a free national community-building campaign that promotes partnerships between the police, first responders, and community members. Clarksville Commons, whose vision has been to create a welcoming place for neighbors to gather and come together as a community, has hosted a local National Night Out since 2021.

This year’s event will be the primary location for the Howard County Police Department and will feature more than 20 organizations. A favorite activity at National Night Out is the opportunity to explore the vehicles, and this year will not disappoint! While visits from HCPD and HCFD are only available as calls for service allow, expected vehicles include a fire truck from Clarksville Fifth District Volunteer Fire, a Bearcat from Maryland National Guard, and a Polaris off-road vehicle and fully equipped Explorer courtesy of Maryland State Police and Howard County Sheriff’s Department.

Join us for a fun-filled eveniing with kid-friendly activities, games, and exciting giveaways! Representatives from Howard County government organizations will participate, including the Health Department, State’s Attorney’s Office, Park Rangers, Office of Sustainability, HCPD Forensics, and the Civil Air Patrol.

Our event also proudly features contributions from key Clarksville community groups such as River Hill Village Center, Columbia Gym, St. Louis Concert Series, and Clarksville Youth Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local organizations and enjoy an evening of community spirit and engagement.

Get ready for an unforgettable celebration with a lively performance by the popular local band, Out of Order. Their fun mix of pop, classic rock, and big band tunes will inspire everyone to get up and move. To satisfy your taste buds, we’ll have a delicious variety of food samples from, Manow Thai, The Common Kitchen, and Mission BBQ. Join us for a fantastic party atmosphere filled with great music, tasty food, and fun.
